In groups, you are going to choose one person to be your Presidential candidate and one person to be their running mate for the IB Block 2019 Presidential Election. Your group will develop a 1-2 minute campaign advertisement (to be acted out in class) demonstrating your understanding of language techniques used to win votes in class Friday, March 1st. (Process & participation points)
–You must turn in a 200-300 word rationale explaining your techniques & choices that you’ll type up and hand in to me when you present tomorrow. (1 per group)
•You must create a slogan and convince your voters to vote for you over your opponents using techniques you’ve learned.
-REMEMBER, just because you are grouped under "Democrat" or "Republican" doesn't mean you have to use that platform. Your platform can be whatever you want to win your votes!
•You have today in class to create your advertisement and Friday we will be acting these out (not filming- acting out in class!) and voting to see who wins.
If you are a DECA group, you will go Monday first thing when you come back! You can see who you are grouped with and who you are running against in the "Campaign Ads" PowerPoint under IB docs at the very end of the PPT. If you are in 5-6 split, you need to check out the list of groups on the PPT and decide who your presidential candidate is as well as your running mate and let me know so I can update your ballot Monday.
